An awkwardly sloping hillside has been transformed into a quiet seating area surrounded by fruit trees, edibles and native and low water perennials. In order to prevent run off from going directly toward the house a small retaining wall was built with larger boulders that double as seating around the Arizona flagstone patio. This once unused portion of the property is now its most productive. In the back garden, we continued the perennial planting around the lawn area and added a trio of fiber clay pots that provide a visual separation between the deck and garden space.
